What about Root Stimulator?

I've don't recall this being discussed directly on this forum. There have been a couple of comments lately about hosta growing roots after blooming. There were a couple of comments about nitrogen forced plants as well. Many of us had a bad winter and spring and are already thinking about next year.

So, what if we were to start fertilizing with a weak root stimulator product after bloom? Would that promote healthier roots this year, and yield more eyes or maybe, bigger leaves next year? My hosta will stay green until mid November, at least. If I were building a healthy root system for 4 more months, that could make a difference. Well, if it worked, it would.

The example is 4/10/3 (I think, it's hard to get real info online)
