Wow...I like that!! And to think I have two of them in my yard, but both of them only have 3-4 smaller leaves.

Hostahillbilly, I think your pic test was hijacked to showcase some beautiful Whirlwinds! Here's mine in June with light center.

And in July it has color shifted to green. You can still see the subtle shades of green though.

Mine has a light center for about two minutes, then turns dark. OBTW, the dark edge is the darkest green I ever have seen in a hosta.

Oh wow I didn't know whirlwind changed like that??? Mine are still white in centers, is that because they are still babies???

I had one, a jAPANESE painted fern. My DH was weeding that bed before laying mulch and he pulled it up. Just emerging from the hard winter too. Oh boy. Not a happy camper here.

My Whirlwinds always go deep dark green. I was hoping that with two they'd hold a middle light color for a while longer.

I don't have one for July, but I looked at it today and it was definitely very dark green throughout both plants.

Thank you HH. I'm really tired of sideways pictures. I usually just skip those posts. I knew there had to be a solution somewhere. It seems the poster should post their photo correctly and not rely on me to find a solution to seeing it as it should have been posted in the first place.
