Not me. I have just always been very interested in gardening and growing things. I guess I got it from my grandfather, who liked to cut and graft branches on fruit trees. He said he grew "prapples." Weird. :) And grapes and honeybees and a huge garden.

yes. Although I learned a lot about hostas before my classes. Most MG will end up having a specialty, so folks may come asking questions, which you basically tell them where they can find the info. The course materials are worth their weight in class fees. We set up a MG station at the farmers market every spring, everybody brings stuff from their gardens to sell for not a lot of money. yes, there is a whopping 20 hour time commitment to being a master gardener. And you have a year to get your time in. 2 hours a week, and a class or two. Not a huge time drain, and I am not retired.

I live in Saskatchewan and this city has nothing. The closest is Saskatoon which offers two kinds of classes. One with the Saskatoon school of horticulture and I think they do things in the city all the time. And the other is with the University of Saskatchewan which I took a few classes for the landscaping.
Should get into it again. But for master gardeners you have to keep volunteering your time and going to these things. Might have to do it when I am older and retired like some of the people that do it.
