No Hostanista, it's no joke. He visited the yard often. He preferred apples to my hosta I guess.

Nice photos. It's been hard for me to get deer pics when they're in my yard. What a beautiful scene to look out on. You're so lucky to have a pond.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who sees deer pass by the hostas and vegetable garden to eat weeds and drink water instead. It does happen. Here they will eat a few of my flowers on occasion, but so far I've been lucky, and they've never ruined anything. We have a couple of apple trees on our street. Maybe they're helping out, too.

Yeah, then you have to eat the venison, though. (I hate venison.) That's the rule in Texas. If you shoot it, you have to eat it (unless it's a predator, of course).
