Paul what is the name of the small chartreuse looking hosta at one o'clock??? I have one similar to that and also same size but its a mystery to me right now......

I am having a hard time sometimes reading posts when people abbreviate the names of hostas! LOL...... I have to get the hang of all this, and obviously too new, a lot of hostas I haven't heard of. Clearly the places I was getting them from were very limited in getting hostas. I am now ordering online and MANY new hostas to choose from. Nursery here in town tried telling me that there were over 600 different types of hostas out there. I on the other hand felt like correcting her saying that maybe your supplier only has that many but there are literally what 8,000 different types out there??? Or is it less???

Michelle the chartreuse hosta is Sun Power, it has shrank in size and is now just a few divisions.

I try not to use abbreviations until the name has been used fully first...but it happens.

The number of different hosta vs what is realistically available......lots of hosta listed in the Hosta Library will never be available as they are only in one or two gardens or possibly no garden anymore. Then how many hosta are truly unique.....there are lots of vanity hosta and some of the vanity is from the ones that tissue culture the Hosta. They get something not to type in tc and instead of growing and evaluating they rush it to market....or....it already exists and is patented in US or Europe so they register their 'new' hosta and evade the patent. Not trying to sound cynical, just realistic.
