My North Side Bed

I have been working on this bed since spring 2012 when a huge pine tree came down in a wind storm. I made a bed out of the mess the tree-cutter left from his tires and all the ripped out grass. The shape of the bed came from his tires that dug into my lawn. He was not a clean worker and as the tree was being cut up it left huge holes in my lawn. so I turned lemons into lemonade. The trees in this bed are new and most of the hostas I already had with just a few new additions this year.

The bed starts out with an Umbrella Catalpa tree

The next trees are a Japanese Bloodgood Maple and then a Weeping Crabapple

Next is a Soulangiana (saucer) Magnolia

And lastly a Summer Wine Ninebark shrub
