Probably no HVX. I saw such bleeding on single leaves of 3 or so of my plants, tested with Agdia strips, no HVX. Might be some other virus, might be not there next year. Don't be so fast with HVX, one test strip costs you much less than a well grown hosta.

Thanks for the quick response. Bern, I hope you are right but most of the leaves look not quite right. I compared to the photos on the the hosta library and it sure looks like that signature bleeding along the veins and then some mottling. I have looked at a few others of mine that I panicked and thought were infected too, but a closer examination leads me to believe they are okay. I guess I should get some strips to be sure.

it is virused.. and it has to be dealt with.. including sterilizing your shovel afterwards ..

either it was a false negative .. or its a virus that is not tested with his strips ...

there is simply no doubt about it ... unless its some camera trick ...

there are other viruses.. besides HVX ...
