That is a lovely ADG you have Vanessa. Mine is a young one like Don's. Actually, I am glad you posted it because I've got a dilemma. In the spring I bought an ADG at Walmart. It had only shoots at the time. About three weeks later I was doubtful that it was an ADG so I bought another at my local Zehr's and that plant actually had more leaves that displayed the "gourd" or cupping.

Both of these look different from each other. Now that I see yours, I am convinced that my original is actually an Abiqua Drinking Gourd after all.

Just got this hosta this year. I am hoping it grows and looks as good as the ones in this thread.

Jo, the one that I have already shows corrugation and cupping. Your first one doesn't look like it has any of either. If I had to guess, I'd say your second one looks more like ADG. But don't take my word for it!

It was after I saw yours that I was doubtful, ....since I picked them both out, lol!! Yours is really looking good!

Hi Jo: My new ADG shows little signs of cupping or corrugation either but I still think that is what it is.
Thanks to the posts from others I know what I have to look forward to :)

This NOID I have may also be ADG...I got it from NH Hostas in late 2012, after their plants had gone dormant. Was supposed to be an Abiqua Moonbeam, but obviously not the case. Slow-growing and still small, but the leaves do have some cupping this year...Guess we'll see.

Ya Don, I think yours looks more like ADG than mine does. Your leaves have that little point on the end that the others do.. I sure hope mine was correctly labelled - they had quite a few but I got it at a local nursery and all the ADG looked the same. Time will tell!
