it does not necessarily follow.. that they will burn.. if raised in the sun ... though they probably will depending on what H they are

its simply too late ... but.. if you are doing large.. whole clumps... and you insist.. go for it ... heave is the issue with small plants ...

My neighbor lost a large maple this year, and my main garden went from full shade to full sun. I was told by a local "expert", that I would be forced to move the whole thing.

I was pleasantly surprised. Although they did need a little more water, my garden did pretty well. You may want to give them a chance before you go to all that work. Maybe next year, they will make the adjustment.

Just a thought.

Do you have a list of what hostas are in the bed? Some are known to be more or less sun tolerant and there might be some specific recommendations depending on what you have.
