Three new babies

Hi,

I picked up three new hosta and wonder if anyone has comments on any of them - are any more or less sun/shad tolerant? any have particular difficulties or need special pampering?

I've only recently started to realize that not all hosta enjoy being treated the same :)

Fragrant Queen is not very sun tolerant for me, but I'm in Texas.

Compared to the other two, Fragrant Queen I think is the most delicate one for sure. Babka has one growing in a pot that's about the best one I've ever seen. It's fantastic.

OK, thank you. I will choose a location carefully for FQ and coddle her :) Hopefully next year I will be able to share photos of these three thriving.

I agree with Don's and BKay's remarks concerning Fragrant Queen. I have two which are about the size of starter hosta now. They are more temperamental than most of my fragrant hosta. Consider, I am in south Alabama, where local Master Gardeners say hostas do not grow!

Haven't grown Designer Genes nor Pocketful of Sunshine, but the latter I hear is sun tolerant. In your zone, hey, they could probably take sun all day long! But, not having experienced the summers in your zone, my opinion doesn't count.
