Interesting find

As still with most of my hostas, I don't know the name of this hosta but there are 2 very interesting leaves from one eye sporting from it. I have never seen leaves like this on a hosta - very thin leaves protruding from the ground with nearly no petiole and a thin green streak down the middle. Thoughts?

its not uncommon.. this late in the season ..... and it happens in spring.. but the petioles extend.. as the season warms up ...

but i dont know if you have enough time for you to see that ...

the thin line is cool ... i wouldnt bet much on it coming back next spring.. so enjoy it while you can ...

Would you try to split it and see if it does come back in the spring?

No, leave it be. It likely won't amount to anything new. Hostas often have variant leaves but until you get a whole eye to stabilize your out of luck. With luck next year you'll get more leaves like that and eventually get a whole eye worth separating.

Cool! One of my Liberty hostas is doing that too. Just take notes, so you won't forget to see what is there next Spring.
