This year, I see 'Sundance', 'Patriot', 'Summer Breeze' and 'Striptease' and 'Fortunri Aureomarginata' shutting down first. Except for 'Summer Breeze', got a little Fortunei theme going here.

This photo, taken Aug. 2, is probably an Elegans seedling. I have several other Elegans seedlings however they haven't changed yet.

My GE is also showing some lovely golden fall color change. Also Pacific Blue Edge is developing gold edges. Those are the only ones so far, but I know the others will follow soon. We had temps down into the 40s the other night. I'm hoping for a good long Indian summer. I hear forecasts of a very cold winter.

Don-that's interesting that most of yours have Fortunei in their background. Is it the same ones that turn early every year, or are these new to you?

Hostahosta-I have 5 PBE, and mine still look fresh. Must depend on climate. As a side note, it's a great hosta. It grows faster than most of my other ones. I'm glad, too, because I'm using it as a low hedge.

There are a couple getting the yellow splashes on leaves, but I'm still in the flower production mode with plantaginea and a couple of the sports and hybrids blooming away.

I have photos in my camera, will get around to sorting through those later this week. Very busy now working on the winter quarters for most of the flock. It's been a dry week, and they are sort of tired I think.
