Season Progression: On Stage

I think this hosta is one of the loveliest. I picture her as a pretty girl. This season I had high hopes because its the third season I had her in my garden and the other 2 she was ugly. But I kept her in a premium space in my garden just waiting for her to turn from that ugly duckling into a beautiful swan. This year she did not disappoint.

May 2013 - the anticipation is killing me!

June 2013 - I put this statue next to her because it's what I think of her.

August 2013 - look at the new growth!

September 2013 - getting darker green

The August picture did me in...now THAT is what it's all about, isn't it? This particular stage of this hosta is exactly what gets my excitement meter shooting up into the clouds...the colour, the shape of the leaves, the crisp and beautiful shape of the plant....aaaahhhhhhh, that's H o s t a!

Reminds me of puppies and kittens....can't some of them just "stay like that"?

I'm enjoying your season progressions. So fun to see how they grow and change. Seeing pictures from others's gardens helps me decide which hosta to buy (of course the problem is I want them all, so no decision really!) Yours are lovely.

I have always loved On Stage too! One of the last, if not the very last, to make an appearance in the spring, but definitely worth the wait! Yours is lovely and is perfectly displayed with that graceful statue in the background!
