Don't say "last pics" because some of them will get beautiful Fall colors. McTavish showed some pics of hers one year and my whole outlook on Fall hosta colors changed. They all don't just turn brown and dry up right away. Sometimes a first light frost, or maybe just cooler nights, will trigger the colors. I'm certain you will have some unbelievable photos in the coming weeks, so don't put that camera away just yet.

The closest deer I saw to my hosta garden this season was about 400 feet away from it. My dog barked at it and it got spooked. In 2013, 3 or 4 came wandering right up to the edge of the hosta garden but it was winter. I have since transplanted "house hostas" (a bunch of aureomarginatas and planatingeas that came with the house) along that border hoping that those would be the first ones the deer would eat and then move on....so far, so good.
