So is my 'Francee'. She was a birthday present (a bare root) from my neighbor; I've been coddling her (under quarantine). ; )

EDIT: Sorry, 'Frances Williams' not 'Francee'.

I think 'Blue Sophistication' will stay in a pot. This one seems perfectly suited for it. If I want one sited in the earth, I'll buy another one.

'Hadspen Blue' thriving in a pot. Pic taken June 1st. One that did not thrive for me in a pot is 'Queen Of The Seas'. I sited her in the earth three weeks ago, and her growth and form since then tells me she likes it in the dirt.

Hello, Guacamole Don! More lovely hosta! You lucky duck! :-)

Don, I don't have FA but do have Francee and HB. Francee is known for her pointed green leaves edged with a crisp white margin....I really don't think what you have is a Francee but I could be wrong. :-(

Sorry guys. I'm an idiot. Obviously it's not 'Francee', but I must have been thinking about that variety when I typed it in. It's a little 'Frances Williams' in the pic.

I'm having Senior Moments at 44. Duh, sorry again!

If I remember correctly, Phil has an outstanding Formal Attire. Maybe he'll show it to us again.

Maybe Phil has Best Dressed Man....the name brings the same picture to mind as Formal Attire.

Thanks, HH. Love those big white-margined leaves. Was this variety ever very popular? If not, I'm a little surprised.

P.S. HH, did you go out at night into your hosta forest, just to get a pic of 'Formal Attire' for me?? What a guy!

I'm supposed to get this one next year for a particular spot in between Alex Summers and Fried Bananas. Wondering about how it does in sun.....like 5-6 hours worth?

Here's a leaf shot of Formal Attire. It's a large plant. Grows well, but is a bit of a slug magnet in my garden.

Excellent pic, Steve. I see 4 different shades of color in those leaves. Thanks very much. Mine got hit pretty hard by bugs as well, before I potted it up. Great variety, though, in my opinion.

daytime shot Don - planted 1999 as one-eyed lil TC in a lot of shade and the Sweet Woodruff is like a carpet therebouts, so it's a strong plant.
