pot .. put in garage to harden them off to local temps.. then plant in the ground .. within the month .. and protect if heave is an issue

one thing for sure.. they are NOT houseplants .. so no indoors ... they need dormancy ..

If they just came from Texas, they are starting to go dormant already. (Mine are. A couple of mine are already down.) Put them somewhere cold until the leaves die, then plant them out if that's what you're planning to do with them.

If you're planning to keep them in pots, let us know. It takes a different plan.

bkay ... it was 30 here last night... soil temps are COLD ...

if you take a plant from TX.. even if its going dormant... with it roots coping with 50 degree TX soil ..

and put it in 30 degree MI soil ...

it MIGHT ROT ... key word.. might ...

so thats why i said pot it and acclimate it..

i bet my garage barely got below 40 or so ...

that is why i said.. harden it off...

Welcome! You have all winter to drool over the amazing photos here on the forum and compile a Spring order as long as your arm. Because you are a rational, level-headed gardener (right?), that will be your ONLY hosta order of the year (right??). :)
