Is Fried Bananas more upright or low mounding?

Posted by joannemb (My Page) on

I know it's a sport of Guacamole---which I have and love. Guacamole is more upright.... and I'm looking for something upright, but with a lighter leaf. Thought fried bananas would fit the bill but now I'm reading that it's low mounding. Does anyone have both hostas and could give me an accurate comparison? Thanks

joannemb,
I have all of the Guacamole sports and that includes the Fried ones and the mound habit is the same.If the leaves were the same color you would't know the difference. It is called a medium large but I would call it large in my garden.

Fried Bananas is always more upright in my garden, but then most of my hostas are that way, because of the high shade. See picture, taken this June. Phil
