moving hosta now

| I have several krossa regals that need to be moved to a larger spot. I would be moving rootball and all-not dividing. Do you think it would be alright to do now or better wait. If I do it in spring they would have to be done before sprouting for summer -job would be easier to do now because I can see the size for spacing better. Any help would be appreciated.Thank you |

| big clump.. no problem.. heave is your only issue ... and a big clump should not heave .... all energy for next spring is stored in those roots .... significantly cut them all off you you will have a smaller plant next year... so err on the side of a ginormous root ball ... and you should be all set ... ken |

| I just moved a Lakeside Cha Cha to a sunnier location last weekend. My thought was that I'd rather interrupt it now while it's dying back than next spring when it's starting its summer growing season. Seems to make sense to me. I will heed Ken's caution about watching for heaving next spring. |

| heave in the middle of winter is the issue.. should there NOT be constant snow cover ... ken |
