Your most successful Hosta-Related Winter Project?

I few projects that I have for the winter include:

Make new garden labels

figure out better systems of organization for:
keeping my hosta photos

keeping my hosta wishlists (currently on scraps of paper that I can never find)

What projects do you have in mind...and if you've done any before, can you explain what you did and how it has worked out for you?

*labels (already started, waiting for more tape)
*learning to post pics on GW
*studying the Hosta Handbook, H. Library, and every catalogue I can find for all those new additions that will be absolutely necessary to include in my collection!
*oh-and finding an idiot-proof way to keep the pups where I want them and out of the hosta, shrubs, etc., so I can plant all those new ones (see asterisk 3) without fear of trampling, digging, rolling over...

All of the above are good winter projects and I NEED
to do most of them. LOL Now, 'will I' is another matter entirely! Probably Not!!!!!

I do have a few.
1. Need to update my hosta collection list with location, size and originator information.
2. Order more labels (including enough to replace some of the ones that are falling apart in the garden.
3. Label and file pics taken over the summer of 09.

I keep my wish list in a MS Exel spreadsheet - a handy way to view and prioritize. There are about 114 plants on the list currently. Because I can't afford to purchase them all, I have added a ranking 1-4 to priorize the purchase timeline - 1 = must have or first to purchase in spring. I find I'm always changing my mind about which to purchase first. When I shop in the spring - I print out the list and take it with me.
