That leaf at 3:00 looks like virus to me, but I would need to see it closer to be sure. Let's see if I can make it bigger. That's better, but it's a bit out of focus. Still it looks like virus to me.

Not the brown spots that just the plant being tired and getting ready for dormancy. It's the bleeding from the veins that concern me. Where did you get this plant from?

This picture was taken in June. Looked like newer leaves were not affected. Plant came from a very reputable grower.

It looks like cold/frost damage, called spring desiccation burn. Is this Emerald Ruff Cut? I love the plant when grown well, but it does suffer from this and other issues somewhat easily.

Yes this is Emerald Ruff Cut in its second year. We don't get to upstate NY until mid May so I don't know if there may have been a late frost .this picture was taken in early June

Ugh, Emerald ruff cut is my nemesis! Looks beautiful early spring, then the desiccation starts to show in just about every leaf....ugly, ugly. Makes me want to get rid of it every year. But then it goes and pumps out new pretty leaves by mid summer, so I keep it around. But still, I curse it!
