Very very cool minis, they're real cute. That mini heuchera 'Frost' is an eye-opener. I did not know before seeing your pic that heucheras actually have mini varieties. Is that full-grown size from the 'Frost', or will it get much larger?

Cute planting, steve_wny! I have the mini heuchera 'Frost' as well. It's such a pretty purple. I don't have many mini hostas, but I like them. 'Peanut' looks like a nice one.

Don-there are a few mini heucheras out there. 'Frost gets about 5-6" high and about 8-9" across. They make a nice spot of color for a small area. Look for the "Little Cuties" heuchera series.

did you drill drain holes in what looks like a brand new galvanized wash bin???

whats your plan for winter .... as there is probably too much surface that will accumulate winter water ...

will it be completely out of winter sun????

Looks like the tub has handles, so it should be easy to transport into the garage, under the carport or north facing overhang for winter storage.

Jan: I do have rogue rabbits in the neighborhood. Surprisingly, they have always left my heucheras and hostas alone, with the exception of occasionally nesting underneath the hostas lol

Don: The heuchera is currently about 4" x 6", so it has a couple more inches of growing to do.

Ken: Holes have been drilled, builder's sand mixed in with the potting mix, and packing peanuts added to the bottom few inches of the bin. So far, so good! I'll be leaving it outside until it freezes, then moving it into an unheated garage.
