they need a dormancy period ...

i would put them outside.. on the north side of the house .. for winter ..

tip the pot over during winter.. so too much water doesnt accumulate ...

Just because they're small doesn't mean they're weak or fragile. Healthy Hosta are tough. I have a few that self-seed and I find "babies" coming up once in a while. I do nothing for them; Ma Nature generally knows what she's doing so I step back and let her do it.

Ken's right--leave them outside & tip the pots over. They don't naturally or normally grow indoors. They need to do what perennials do as the hours of daylight diminish and temperatures cool: go dormant until Spring.
