Taken on Oct 29. Not bad considering, but we have not had a frost yet. Lowest temps in the low 50s over a week ago, back to the high 70s since then.

I guess you see the trend here, a lot of the fragrants are hanging in there. They did not start noticeably earlier in the spring than other hosta, but they are hanging tough as the weather cools, even though it has been a dry fall. The last two to bloom was plantaginea (made a few seedpods) and Royal Accolade. Next year I'll be ready to take advantage of this, keeping them clustered to maximize open pollination.

Jan,you must have an exceptionally warm location! My hostas are all flat to the ground,after only one freezing night back in October,and now they are all gold colored. Phil

On November 2nd, Halcyon is clearly the last man standing in this bed.

It's obviously fall here. Only Touch of Class and June are still showing green in the front bed.
