Since we know that Aden took plants from Kevin Vaughn and Florence Shaw and registered them as his own, and we know that he was in the UK to collect plants. It is highly likely that Color Glory is actually Borwick Beauty. Perhaps this will all be sorted out in the registry some day.

There is no way that Color Glory is Fascination x Intrigue (Both plants taken from Birchwood). Just one look at the flowers will tell you that. No one ever saw any hybridizing or seed growing by Aden. There were no records left after he died. It is highly unlikely that he did any hybridizing at all.

He was a collector of plants (one way or another) and did an excellent job of marketing with Klehm's in the 90s. I doubt, however, if he ever created a plant on his own.

if i cant see it with my own eyes... i dont buy it ... and i mean.. in a garden .. in the olden days ...

too many look alike TC culls .... they dont even know what they will mature into ... when they start selling them ...

I'm with Ken. I don't buy any hostas that I can't see with my own eyes,but I did make one exception this year,when I ordered Dino,from Naylor Creek,because you can't find it around here. I've always thought Minuteman and Patriot were the same plant. Phil

Maybe 'Avocado' and 'Holy Mole' as well.

Steve, thanks for the info on Aden. Very interesting; Sounds like he 'toured' a lot of hosta gardens. With a shovel and a flashlight.
