you would link to the old post in the boxes below the box where i am typing this... that box is titled: Optional Link URL:

RE: hosta-gal has a problem

OK-but what do I enter in the Optional Link URL below, Ken?
Do I use kckarens posting title as the URL? And then what?
I couldn't find a "help" topic on doing this. Is there one I can follow?

Maybe best I just ignore the one in Karens posting and rewrite it here. I just want to learn how to do things myself and not have to rely on someone else.

What are you trying to do?

RE: hosta-gal has a problem

I wanted to start a new thread from Karen's "gifts" and I accidentally submitted it on her post. I wanted to move it to my new one and don't know how. It wasn't very long so doing it over is no big deal. I'd just like to learn, if there is a way to do it.

RE: hosta-gal has a problem

in the box named: Name of the Link

you put something witty.. like LINK ...

and where you type.. you put something even wittier.. such as: at the link below ...

the first box is the actual link ...

the second box.. the name you want to call the link .. which creates some blue writing under your post.. [of course.. today its red/purple on preview .. lol]

as an example.. please refer to the link below ... wherein i went to that post.. copied the WWW address ... pasted it in the top box.. and put the witty saying below ...

we will get you up to speed ...

if you want to clean it all up ... start a new post.. titled properly [since this post really isnt going to bring in peeps in regard to whatever you wanted to add] .. put in your words of wisdom in the message box .. and the link in the box below ... and the name below that... on preview it should all be apparent ... hit send ... and away you go ....

good luck

ken

Here is a link that might be useful: link

Ken's right, Theresa. Start again with a new thread and give it a proper title. In another tab select the text from the post you made in the other thread, copy it and past it in your new one. Voila, you will get your message across. You can do it.

Thank you all. You've been a big help. I was pretty lost. I will work on it in the morning.

RE: hosta-gal has a problem

Hi, Theresa!!!
You go ahead and make your move in the morning. Whatever you do, do not stop because it doesn't look "perfect" to you. Heavens above, if I had stopped because what I submitted wasn't perfect, I'd have gotten out of the Internet a looooong time ago.

You'll be fine, and one day you'll be telling someone else how to do this very thing. :)
