RE: 20 and 0, BABY!!

What are these odds for? I grew up a Giant's fan when the two eastern powers were the Giants and the Redskins, and before the upstart Patriots and that other Jersey wetland team.

I am in mourning over the loss by Green Bay Packers, my favorite team since I lived in Wisconsin.

The Patriots will take care of business with the Giants after the last wakeup-call game barely won by the Patriots.

Go Pats! This looks like quite the year for New England. Even the Celtics got
game this year.

RE: 20 and 0, BABY!!

When they had the last game, it was a riot-- local sports casters were going to all the local sports bars, and I mean EVERYONE was saying how by the half, the game should be put away, and they sould play the second stringers so as not to hurt the first string guys for the playoffs. I was getting madder by the second at the disrespect they were showing the Giants, and thinking to myself-- yeah, just wait, I got yer second string!! And when the Giants came out and right out of the box blew right past em, I'm SURE someone a mile away could've heard me!!

Ain't gonna be any different. Everyone's going to disrespect the Giants and make em the extreme underdogs, just as they have right through since the wild card game. See what happens!! The very same thing that's happened since the wild card game!!

:-)

I felt sorry for the stadium fans and the Giants FG kicker when it went into OT. A lot of skin burn in GB today, the Giants coach looked close to getting frost bite face, probably his anger kept his blood flowing. The FG kicker saved his name from becoming mudd. GB missed the chances he gave them, 3rd time was a charm. Was routing for the Chargers over the Pats, personal reasons.

The Pat's have gotta keep doing what they've done all season. Never underestimate
the opponent. The underdog teams with nothing to lose are usually the most dangerous.

and the Giants FG kicker when it went into OT.

That boy owes me a bottle of MAALOX!! :-) He missed the first one-- okay. nobody's perfect. But when he missed the second one with 4 seconds to go, I started getting flashbacks to the 86 Superbowl when they played Buffalo, and The Bills placekicker, Scott Norwood, missed a field goal with seconds left on the clock, which gave the Giants the win!!

The underdog teams with nothing to lose are usually the most dangerous.

Think about it--

Giants were supposed to lose the wild card game. They won.

Giants were supposed to lose the divisionals. They won.

Giants were supposed to lose the NFC Playoffs. They won.

Giants are supposed to lose the Superbowl. See a pattern developing?

SORRY, PATS!! Don't feel bad-- 18 and 1 is still the best in history!! :-)

18 and 1 is still the best in history!!

If they lose the Bowl they're look like the biggest chokers in history.
They gotta take it all.

 o
RE: 20 and 0, BABY!!

After all the Superbowls they've won, I doubt that.

RE: 20 and 0, BABY!!

Bill, everything "says" I should be rooting for your Patriots: my brother lives in Boston, even! And Tom Brady is cute. But...but...but..I'm still looking back at that first game against the Jets and the cavalier way Bellichick tossed off his blatant cheating ("Okay, I did it - now let's move on 'cuz I've got the Chargers' game coming up"), and there's an integrity dip for me. Besides, Eli Manning is cute too.....

RE: 20 and 0, BABY!!

halfdecaf, reread my posts-- I'm as rabid a GIANTS fan as they come!!

Yes, Bill, I realized that seconds after I hit the "submit" button...sorry for the confusion. I forget which parts of the northeast roots for which teams! Nice shirt, by the way...

Actually, I'm in the minority where I live (some things never change!). I grew up in southern Connecticut, and my father, years ago, was a member of the New Haven Exchange Club (very much like the Chamber of Commerce). Every year, they'd have their banquet where the officers for the coming year would be installed, and at that banquet, would be invited local sports celebrities. This one particular year (I believe it was either 65 or 66), my father was to be installed as president, so our whole family went to the banquet. That year, the celebs were Y.A. Tittle, and Andy Robustelli (the 60's version of Phil Simms and Lawrence Taylor), and they gave me a Duke football (the official league football at the time) with both their autographs on it. I've been a diehard Giants fan ever since. That only thing that ticked me off about them was they waited until 5 months after my father passed away to win their first superbowl. He was just as big of a fan as I am. :-)

Even though I'm a life-long Redskins fan, I'm delighted that the Giants won the Super Bowl. Yeah for the underdog!
