hot or warmed over

From the beginning of this forum (yes I was there)I never understood what was supposed to be a discussion and what a conversation. Now that the discussion side has been defined as a bun fight, (hot uncooked or raw)perhaps it is time for a civilized conversation over here.

So is this time of year hot for you or just warmed over? Autumn is when we celebrate the years harvest, the temperature decreases and the days get shorter. Mellow fruitfulness is it? Melancholy regrets?

Perhaps we make plans in spring and review their success in fall. The word fall itself is open to interpretation isn't it?

Is this a time to fall in love or to fall out?

I too have wondered about the difference about discussion versus conversation for this particular forum. I also wonder why the link is under Garden Forums instead of Forums.

Autumn is my favorite season. I like the cooler weather, the colors, getting to wear sweaters instead of cotton and linen, and better snuggling with DH and the cats.

Autumn: a season of poetry and romance and flaming trees. The glorious performance of nature before its death....

"Come autumn sae pensive in yellow and grey;
And soothe me with tidings of nature's decay...."

Robert Burns.

Although I missed not having a summer this year, I love autumn just the same. Things like the county agricultural fairs. Or like a few weeks ago when they had Maine Apple Sunday, and we went to several of the different local orchards and picked a total of about 4 bushels of apples (my wife's been canning ever since!) Not to mention that at this time of year God breaks out his paints and shows off! I never realised how much I missed the changing of the seasons when I lived in south Florida till I'd been down there for a couple of years, and found out my mother had terminal cancer and not much time left. I came up to spend several weeks with her, and it was right about this time of year, and my wife had to literally twist my arm to get me to go back.

It's also one of my favorite times to be out on the water, for the same reason.

Making me homesick, Bill. Miss the Fall colors and the migrating water fowl.
