If a multiplication is both right- and left-distributive, it is simply said to be distributive. For example, the real numbers are distributive.

Fox News host Eric Bolling on Wednesday accused some schools of "pushing the liberal agenda" for teaching an algebra lesson about the distributive property.

During a segment about "indoctrination in schools," Bolling reminded viewers of a 2009 video of children chanting, "Mmm. Mmm. Mmm. Barack Hussein Obama," which outraged conservatives at the time.

"But even worse is the way some textbooks are pushing the liberal agenda," the Fox News host explained, pointing to an algebra worksheet that Scholastic says gives students "[i]nsight into the distributive property as it applies to multiplication."

"Distribute the wealth!" Bolling exclaimed, reading the worksheet. "Distribute the wealth with the lovely rich girl with a big ole bag of money, handing some money out."

Co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle explained that the algebra worksheet had put her on "high alert" for the liberal agenda in her 6-year-old son's curriculum. snip

"This really has to be seen to be believed - so the picture is here for you to see. This is a page out of a workbook for your government school student. What school and what schoolbook I can't tell you - maybe the lady who sent this to me will step forward and let us know.

This is how our government schools - and the liberals who run them - effectively brainwash (though indoctrinate is a much more polite word) our children into accepting the liberal philosophy as basic truth. This particular worksheet is meant to help your government student "understand the distributive property." Now I'm not a dreary slouch at math - but this is the first time in my life I've ever heard of the distributive property. I strongly suspect that pretty much any student can move through school to a very successful life as a productive adult without ever having heard those words. Really - look at this Bolshoi. "6 groups of (3+5) = 6 groups of 3 + 6 groups of 5" I challenge any government school teacher to call the show today and tell me why this is important. What's important is that the student be able to figure out what 3+5 equals (8) and that 6x8 = 48.

That, as you have guessed if you've looked at the picture, isn't the real problem here. The problem is HOW this government school document teaches the lesson. The headline at the top of the document reads "Distribute the Wealth." And there you have the picture of the pretty little girl with the cute little pony tail. She's holding a bag of money in one hand, and giving away some of that money with the other. Yes! She's distributing her wealth! But if you study the picture you'll see there's an even more subtle message. She's not handing money away from her wallet or her purse. No! That wouldn't get the real message across! Why pretty much every little girl has a wallet or a purse. No .. this little sweetheart has a BAG of money! Not every little girl has BAGS of money - so this girl must be really RICH! And since she's rich her money needs to be redistributed! So she's being a good little rich girl and she's smiling as she hands her money away.

This doesn't happen by accident. There was a lot of thought put into the wording and the image on this math workbook page - here is a chance to use a math lesson to teach wealth redistribution. This is what happens when you turn the education of your child over to a government education establishment controlled and staffed (with a few exceptions) by Democrats and liberals. - snip "

I wonder how Bible-based Christian Math approaches the subject.

Then as we got older, "If Jeffrey has 20 candies and he wants to split them evenly between himself and his 3 friends, how many candies will each boy get?"

I guess that's why I'm a Liberal now... all that subliminal socialist indoctrination in elementary school.

But oh yes, you did. Your tolerance, humility, why--your kindness is a clear demonstration that you take your Bible seriously. (sarcasm).

Where was I? Oh, yeah: "hypocrisy".

You took a post which was aimed generally at those Republicans who watch Fox and in particular, those who take an ideological stand on redistribution, and twist it into an unwarranted and baseless personal attack.

Why choose to respond at all after admitting that you did not understand what the post was about?

And who do you think you are to be a judge of someones character...their kindness, humility or their religious conviction?

Because I spend most days not being annoyed with anything, I sometimes watch The Five on Fox just to make sure I still have command of a full range of emotional responses - that crew of utterly rediculous personalities have discussed this for two days. Scholastic-gate has replaced Benghazi-gate.

As an adult, I always thought the multiplication of the loaves and fishes was symbolic/in anticipation of the celebration of the Eucharist - not Cindy Jacobs feeding the multitudes with a 16 oz. box of pasta (Angel Hair, no doubt).

I was wondering the same thing.
