I've been noticing people saying they don't know how. This is a great instruction thread from someone at GW.

Here is a link that might be useful: HTML decoded

As long as we are reviewing, can someone remind me how to do the strike-through?

Thanks,

<s>information here will be struck through</s>

Isn't it special how I displayed hypertext commands, right in the body of the post--where hypertext commands are active--without them actually becoming active?

This

Just put the word "strike" in the < > and then write what you wish after it, like the word THIS above. Then end it with the word "strike" after the slashie in another set of < >.

It's the same way you do italic, bold and underline except you use the word strike

Years ago before IVillage took over, you could also use HTML to make your message move across the page or float up and down. The first time I tried it I did something wrong and the whole forum page slowly floated away. What a mess. This is one of the best pages I've seen for HTML instruction. Thanks.

mwoods, that must be what just happened to me yesterday when I tried some things here. When I hit the preview I got a message from GW in big front saying something like "You have entered a profanity OR an illegal string of HTML code that could cause security problems for GW" and went on to say "You may be innocent. If so, hit the back button and try again."

I don't know what I did that set that off but I am not going to try it again or say what that HTML code was. Apparently it is not allowed here and they thought I was a pirate trying to ruin their website. ☠ It was a long message and it really rattled me.

Peace and out. ✌

Is posting with obnoxious HTML lame, or not?

<xmp> is a new tag for me,
although it officially deprecated and is replaced by
<pre> and </pre>

How about some fun with font faces?
