He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

shhh...Romney will tell us later!

Once again, no details - he will let congress decide!

SCHIEFFER: You havent been bashful about telling us yo want to cut taxes. When are you going to tell us where youre going to get the revenue? Which of the deductions are you going to be willing to eliminate? Which of the tax credits are you going to when are you going to be able to tell us that?

ROMNEY: Well, well go through that process with Congress as to which of all the different deductions and the exemptions

...oh and he has said that he will eliminate some government agencies....but he won't tell us which ones yet.

...and he will totally have immigration reform...once he gets elected he will tell us what it is!

How can anybody support this guy? it is painfully obvious when you watch him in interviews, that he does not feel he has to tell us anything - we just need to trust, he is above it all....shhhh quiet rooms, people!

This guy is like a game show host that's auditioning for his first big role as president in a made for TV movie.

Can't wait for the BIG REVEAL!.... tomorrow night at 9:00 eastern followed by your late local news.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

It's so obvious he has no plan at all. He articulates a lot without saying anything.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

President Nixon campaigned on his 'secret' peace plan for Vietnam that he would reveal when elected. Once in office, he then proceeded to bomb Cambodia.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

How could anyone vote for someone who won't tell them what the plans and solutions are? It makes no logical sense.

"Trust me" is not a viable answer.

Plans?
Romney's plan is to rubber stamp whatever Norquist, Koch bros, Wall Street, Gambling tycoon, etc, puts on his desk. All of them have an itchy back.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

You mean he is going to tell us? Are you sure he isn't going to pass it before we can read it? And he's going to work with congress? Not by executive order? omg !!!

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

All of them have an itchy back.

and he is proving he has enough digits to scratch their back.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

You mean he is going to tell us?

He's telling you that he's going to tell you but that doesn't mean he'll actually tell you ....

And he doesn't need to "work with" Congress. They will just tell him what to sign.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

Romney can't tell you what he is going to do, or how he is going to do it because he doesn't know what it is, he doesn't know what he believes in because he hasn't had time to flip flop on the issue yet.
He has to find out which direction the wind is blowing, which way will be better for him to get what he wants.

Once he figures all that out, he'll flip flop on the issue, it never fails, it's the story of his life.

Flip flop Romney, The "king of the flip flops".

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

Elect Me I do not have to tell you what I will do. Very funny. That might work for the uneducated fools but not enough uneducated fools out there that is going to hand you the seal with that platform.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm...it sure worked on us fools in 2008!

Except back then, it was promises with no intention to be kept.

You're a fool if you vote for either one of them this time.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

Why is it that some people refuse to acknowledge that our current President has done anything of value? Must we post the list of his accomplishments yet again?

We don't always like what he does, we don't agree with everything, and we aren't getting everything we want, but the wheels of government don't spin as fast as those without patience would like. It would be difficult... in fact, I dare any one of you to fix the issues of this nation within 8 years, let alone 4!

At least Obama doesn't flip flop, and he does tell us what he plans to do. He also doesn't send a bus to circle an arena honking while Romney is within trying to get through a speech.

What's up with Romney's "geopolitical foe" comment re Russia?

Imagine a dem running for prez doing that while the sitting president was in negotiations with the RU prez over Syria. The "outraged!" crowd would have a field day.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

Why is it that some people refuse to acknowledge that our current President has done anything of value? Must we post the list of his accomplishments yet again?

That isn't going to work. You can post that list until doomsday, the real issue is that Obama has to be a one term president at all costs, even if it is to the detriment of the people and the country.

They don't care who the GOP Nominee is or will be or presumed to be.

We've seen it here on HT, with posts that anyone would be better than Obama, or such statements like, I don't care who the GOP nominee is, I'll vote for the GOP not Obama.

Really makes one wonder about the thought process, the mentality of the GOP supporter, doesn't it.

An automatic vote for the GOP candidate no matter who it is, what the person does or doesn't support or believe in, just vote for the GOP.

"Romney the flop flopping president" and the GOP says he's wonderful, support him for president.

Wasn't that long ago that the adds where running, courtesy of the GOP, showing a Democratic candidate for president as the "flip flop".

Amazing how short the memory and the attention span is in that GOP voter, supporter, party, isn't it.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

It really doesn't matter to many who the next President will be as long as it isn't Obama.

The facts are he is seen as a socialist who is going to take away "their" money and give it to someone else. That is what "they" truly believe. There is nothing more to it.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

My sister is a staunch GOP supporter despite the many aspects of her life that would be negatively affected by their choices:

- she just lost her job so she is unemployed and drawing benefits - Republicans love to cut unemployment benefits
- has never made enough money to be considered anything but lower middle-class
- she is single and has the possibility of getting pregnant and wanting an abortion
- she has a daughter so future decisions on women's healthcare affects not just her but her young daughter
- her ex-husband is a transgendered lesbian living in a committed relationship so gay marriage laws are of concern for his/her longterm stability and ability to support their child

Yet she will vote Republican and is vehemently anti-Obama.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

"It really doesn't matter to many who the next President will be as long as it isn't Obama."

Yep, it's almost time for Americans to weigh in again, and we wouldn't have it any other way. One term presidents are nothing new.

Our presidents get four years to build a record, and the electorate gets four years to evaluate the performance. If folks are satisfied, he gets a second term. If they aren't satisfied, he gets replaced.

Obama will be fine either way.

I'm guessing that being held down while Democrats shoved Obamacare down our throats is a historical moment few rational adults will ever forget. I am looking forward to seeing how the American people feel about entrusting this president and his party with that kind of power again.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

I'm guessing that being held down while Democrats shoved Obamacare down our throats is a historical moment few rational adults will ever forget.

The voters elected those Democrats - enough to pass a bill in the House and Senate - and the voters elected President Obama who ran on a platform of health care reform. I'm having a hard time finding a reason for your choice of words "shoved down our throats."

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

held down while Democrats shoved Obamacare down our throats

and

Republican are holding down women and shoving vaginal probes up their privates.

Do you think you will enjoy the vaginal probe more?

I think I will take the ones shoving health care....Just those words Health Care makes you feel warm and fuzzy. But anyway I guess since you did not understand how important health care is and The Affordable Health Care Bill does not make you feel warm and fuzzy you should vote your heart.

If people do not want Affordable Health care they cannot get much sicker so they probably do not need Affordable Health Care.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

What we got was not exactly what we wanted, either, but it was a step in the right direction. It sure beats NOT having any kind of health care reform!

I know those who already have wonderful insurance or enough money to pay cash for their health care don't give a hoot... but those of us with no insurance, and no hope of buying any appreciate any step in the direction of health care reform!

What is Romney's plan for American Health Care??

 o

Flip flop Romney, The "king of the flip flops".

How ironic that Obama chose Kerry to play Romney in his debate prep. I love it!

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

I think we should all just pack up and move to Massachusetts in the event Romney is elected by some fluke and on "day one" puts his repealing hat on.

I've read here picking up stakes is an easy thing to do.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

he is going to be very busy on "day one".

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

I would say LOL, but it really isn't funny, is it? Remember, Obama evolves, Romney flip-flops!!

Maybe Romney is doing ok right now and will be more specific as election day gets closer. At this point it doesn't seem necessary.

Romney devolves. He was a gay rights advocate now he's not, he was a woman's choice advocate now hes what? We have the videos & the yakkity yak!
The part swore that he sucked anyone but Romney then the Brain surgeons shot each other to pieces leaving Romney. We have all the sound bytes on ever winner & luminary of the Grand old Toilet they all swore he was a major floater in that toilet now he's their choice for big stinker.
Yeah most certainly a lying sack of devolution!

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

Sleepless, check out Romney's record, check out his claims on what he did and didn't support.

The "flip flop game" began when, as we say in MA, "Romney was struck with
Potomac Fever" otherwise known as "i want to be president so who cares about the fact that I'm Governor of MA and have 2 years left. Too bad for them, I'm off to check this idea out".

And that is exactly what Romney did, left the state in a lurch to persue what he wanted and to bad for everyone else that supported his campaign and election for governor and he lied to them about how he was going to be governor, not president.

He stuck out his claws to test the waters and found, he wasn't gonna make it as that Moderate Republican he claimed to be during his campaign for governor and what he claimed to be when he left with those claws stuck to test he waters.

Every so often he would show up for a few days in MA to claim the "corner office" again, (that's where the governors office is located at the State House in MA.)

And that's where and when he claimed to "love the people of MA."

Yup, He loved us so much that the became known as the "absent governor" and had his many flip flop moments as he started to find himself a newly found conservative, I guess they are called "born again conservatives."

In other words, everything he claimed to be and said he was, just to gain the moderate vote in MA, well it was a lie. Cause our "newly returned governor" had become a conservative republican, all while putting the claws of his out to "test the waters."

Come time for the end of his term, that speech was pathetic, to say the least. Full of his "love for the people of MA, the honor it was to serve the people of MA."

So much love and honor that he wasn't in the state for most of the last 2 years of his term. He was so sick, so suffering with "Potomac Fever" that he could no longer remain in MA to finish his term, he needed to be out on the "trail", with those "claws in the water.".

So off went Romney into the wild abyss of his "testing waters" and no longer governor of the State that he loved and the people he loved and the honor to serve these wonderful people, and low and behold.

Shortly after his departure from the state "for higher grounds" his love for the people of MA, how it was an honor to serve the people of MA, well, we kind of died or something in his eyes.

All of a sudden the people of MA where the butt of his jokes, the State of MA became the butt of his jokes,

What kind of person, governor, political candidate ridicules and makes fun of the people that he served in the state that he was governor in?

OH, I know, it's flip flopping Mitt Romney, the guy that got "Potomac Fever" and vanished from the State of MA for the last 2 years of his governorship.
He's the guy that found out that being a Moderate Republican wasn't gonna work to get that nomination, gotta do me flip flop, Romney thought and Oh My,
He claims he had an "epiphany" and with that, out popped conservative Romney, the opposite in every belief that "Moderate Romney" was.

Go right ahead and believe that Romney isn't a flip flop, the "King of Flip Flops", go right ahead and fool yourselves into believing that he really believes what he says.

Don't listen to the people that know him, have experienced the lies, the flip flops, suffered under his so called leadership.

Go right ahead and make the comments "Obama evolves and Romney flip flops" with your sarcasm in tow.

Romney tried to destroy MA with his policies and if you think he will do a better job than Obama, if you think he knows how to "fix the economy" and Obama doesn't, well I got a bridge in Brooklyn for you to buy real cheap.

Romney's ideas failed in MA and created disaster here. If they created that disaster here, imagine what kind of disaster it would be for the entire country.

But of course, those of you that are so hung up on "anyone but Obama", which has been your goals since the moment Obama won the election, you will vote for Romney anyways.

I just pray there is just one more voter that votes for Obama than votes for Romney. That is all it will take for Romney to lose.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

This is just a logical extension of the 'Conservative' political movement - usually successful: just attack the other guy.

Because when they do talk about what they will do once in office, their support plummets. Get rid of social security? Get rid of Medicare? Cut taxes down to nothing for 'Job Creators'?

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

"I've read here picking up stakes is an easy thing to do."

Yeah... I've read that here, also... too bad it's not a real fact for far too many Americans.

On with the circus...

From my point of view, it couldn't be more important than to be up front, open and honest about what your plans and solutions are when you're a candidate for the highest office in the nation.

This is not a suspense movie... it's a Presidential campaign!

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

Maybe Romney is doing ok right now and will be more specific as election day gets closer. At this point it doesn't seem necessary.

Really? You are ok with voting for a Presidential candidate that refuses to tell you what he will do?

If that's what we've come to, it is very very sad.

Yup, I've read that you can just pick up and move too to make more money so stop complaining. Gee, why isn't everyone doing that?

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

Will Romney keeps attacking Obama on the economy and has said that Obama made things worse than Bush did.

Why does the media just let him get away with that bald faced lie?

And what would he have done other than allowing GM and Chrysler to go Bankrupt during a time when the economy was on the brink of a Depression and we were shedding 750,000 jobs every month?

Romney advertises that on day one of his hypothetical wishful thinking Presidency he would approve the Keystone XL pipeline.
LOL!
What would that do for the economy, for jobs, or for for gas prices? Next to NOTHING.
Next he will repeal Affordable Healthcare, or as it was known previously, Romneycare.
Well it looks like Scalia is going to beat him to the punch on that one.

As far as providing any solution to help the 50 million or so without Healthcare coverage, he has his middle finger ready for all of them.

 o
RE: He'll Tfell Us When He Gets Elected

"You're a fool if you vote for either one of them this time."

Hypocrisy is worse than foolish.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

Everybody in the GOP is mumbling when asked about Romney's plan - for anything. Mitch McConnell is sure Romney has one and will let Romney speak for himself. Not even the "irreversibly stupid" Sean Hannity could get him to expound on anything during yet another friendly Fox interview. Pig in a poke. Yesiree!

I'd like to know about the dressage horse being listed as a 77k business expense.

So much to learn (or is there?) and so little time. Romney just seems to want the job as President - not necessarily do any of the work it entails. Think back to your days on committees and how many people like that there were. LOL

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

Hypocrisy is worse than foolish.

Heri, some of us live in states where the vote will go overwhelmingly to one of the candidates - NY and CA being examples of states that will be in President Obama's column. It won't matter who kwoods votes for, nor will it matter who I vote for; both states will go Democratic.

Neither hypocrisy nor foolishness are involved.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

I really wasn't going to vote this time around but feel now I must after the demented GOPorud queers endorsed Romney.

"Not only does President Obama not understand how the free markets work he is openly hostile to free market capitalism," said LaSalvia. "President Obama's repeated attacks on Governor Romney's private sector record underscore this President's fundamental lack of understanding of how our economy works. Instead of demonizing free markets, President Obama should be focused on creating an economic environment that encourages free market investments and creates jobs." "It is clear that the hope and change of candidate Obama in 2008, has been replaced with jealousy and envy," said LaSalvia. "Obama"s divisive attacks appeal to the absolute worst in Americans." GOProud is the first and only organization representing gay Americans to endorse Governor Romney's Presidential bid. "The truth is that this election is too important to wait or to sit on the sidelines," continued LaSalvia. "We plan on spending every day between now and November working to make Obama a one term President."

This is a passel of pustules that find Log Cabin Republicans too far to the left.
The are endorsing a candidate who signed a pledge to create an amendment that would declare them anathema.
Excrement for brains!

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

We don't need Romney to tell us what he'll do. We know that he will do whatever the Republicans tell him to do. Look at what the Republicans put forward as bills in the House and Senate and you know what they'll be doing - more of the same.

- bills that reduce taxes for businesses and the wealthy in the spirit of trickle down economics (or "piss on" economics)
- bills that remove pesky regulations on businesses in regards to the environment or human health - don't stand in the way of progress!
- bills that privatize Medicare, gut Social Security and repeal Obamacare
- bills that remove government oversight on education, health and human services
- bills that restrict a woman's ability to get an abortion by imposing new rules, requirements or reducing the amount of clinics allowed to offer them
- and lots of military increases and conflicts overseas like in Iran to keep our people in constant fear for their lives because the whole world sees us as a bully

Probably some other things I can't think of. But basically more of what they've been talking about and trying to do for the last 3.5 years.

You know I have hated the party of no these last few years - I think it is an infantile approach. But I hope that the Democrats serve it right back at 'em if Romney wins.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

He'll tell us one thing, flip and do a different thing, then flip again and claim he was wrong.

Maybe he'll get another "epiphany" and that's why he flip flops all the time.

What ever the reason, you cant trust anything that Romney says, cause it won't be what he believes before you know it.

"King of the flip Flop", that's what he is.

....nice how "shoving" can be interposed with so many outrage du jours.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

I can't imagine sitting out this election. We may have two corporate parties but the difference in these candidates is so stark, it is negligent in my opinion to sit it out and I don't care if your in a blue or red state...we have had plenty of republican govs in New York...NYC mayors etc and with redistricting I wouldn't take any chances.

 o
RE: He'll Tell Us When He Gets Elected

Maggie, I completely agree. It is too dangerous to sit out this election. The differences are too stark and the contrasts in ideologies too great. I think our country is at a dangerous turning point, in terms of its future, on every level, from cultural issues to our economy to our aggressive war stance.
