| Manifesto:
The Mad Farmer Liberation Front by Wendell Berry
Love the quick profit, the annual raise,
And you will have a window in your head.
When they want you to buy something
Denounce the government and embrace
Ask the questions that have no answers.
Say that the leaves are harvested
Listen to carrion -- put your ear
Ask yourself: Will this satisfy
Go with your love to the fields.
As soon as the generals and the politicos
Be like the fox

| The one and only Wendell. One of these days, pretty soon, I'll have swing through Kentucky and say hi. |

| What a wonderfully defiant and timely poetic statement. Thanks for posting. |

| Marhsall, you scared me; I thought Wendell Berry had died when I saw the title of this thread. Praise ignorance, for what man I really like this phrase. |

| Berry cannot die yet. I have yet to personally thank him for fighting the good fight on behalf of small-holders and the communities that have defined for what America used to stand and to which many of us still aspire. |
|
| I thought the same thing Nancy. When put together with our marshalls post on the other side I sensed a melancholia episode. But this shows there is some fight in the old dog yet. |

| I also thought Berry had died. Pleasant surprise. The ol' fox has been making some tracks in the wrong direction. :) |
