Old Business _ Righting a Wrong

Chick-fil-A says it will stop funding anti-gay groups!
"“The WinShape Foundations is now taking a much closer look at the organizations it considers helping, and in that process will remain true to its stated philosophy of not supporting organizations with political agendas.” Winshape, a non-profit funded by Chick-fil-a, has donated millions of dollars to anti-LGBT groups, including some classified as hate groups. In meetings the company executives clarified that they will no longer give to anti-gay organizations."

Thank You!

Good.

So much for the conservatives claiming that Chick fil-whatever had booming business because homophobic Christians (not that they would call themselves that) such as Sarah Palin and hubby were patronizing the chain to spite counter the LBGT community's boycott.

Are the homophobic Christians now going to boycott Chick fil-whatever?

The WinShape Foundations is now taking a much closer look at the organizations it considers helping,

Ya...after getting the latest business numbers. Greed won over bigotry, this time around, that is.

Nonetheless. Good for them.

Well... when you can't force the melding of the two, you go for the most important... and that, it seems, is greed. Money wins yet again. What's so surprising?

No one really thought they changed their values, did they? I'd guess they hold the exact same values... in private.

A public showing is better than nothing, though, I guess...

Hmm, but are they better than the Colnel?

Couldn't tell ya... never ate their food.

I have, most unfortunately, eaten KFC in the past. I can't now... just the thought of how their product is grown, and how not nutritious it is, makes me feel ill.

Best not to think about how things are grown or we would never eat anything...

RE: Old Business _ Righting a Wrong

I heard that now that Chick Fil A is getting an earful from their Christian supporters ... claiming THEY won't be eating there now.

Reminds me of the Komen foundation and Planned Parenthood flap.

I really doubt the bottom line was overly affected. I'm going to give him the credit of standing by his words and correcting something that was wrong.

"Best not to think about how things are grown or we would never eat anything..."

There is a common and eminently stupid idea. Somehow I think you are not being sarcastic on this one.

I was no help with this one because I have never ate at their restaurant. I use that restaurant term lightly because is fast food places considered restaurants?

I have heard people say they do not believe that a company should get into peoples lives and they would not help them with their goal. So it looks like it worked.

Never had any intention of eating all that salt to begin with. The Old man can do whatever he wants with his money so can the family. The Charity of the Corporation is what was righted for it's franchises.

RE: Old Business _ Righting a Wrong

Yeah, fast foods do not appeal to me, either. I see some of the tv commercials for various items, and I just want to vomit. To think, some people actually consume that garbage... yuck!

Sneaky snake, at it in a roundabout way.

Where'd you hear that?

They have done the right thing. One doesn't need to praise them, but gee whiz. Is there no pleasing some people? What more would you have them do, I wonder.
