Another shinning power of right wing faith & fortitude bites the dust!Dinesh D'Souza has resigned as the president of The King's College (TKC), the Manhattan school's board of trustees announced Thursday.
It was revealed this week by World magazine reported Tuesday that D'Souza was engaged to Denise Odie Joseph II while still legally married to his wife of 20 years, Dixie, and that the couple had allegedly checked into a hotel room together during a Christian conference last month.
Of course I'm enjoying this!

"This is viciousness masquerading as righteousness. And this is the behavior that is truly worthy of Christian condemnation." of course what else could he say rules are for other people!

D'Souza's back...
Star Commentator Is Out as Christian College President After Scandal
By ARIEL KAMINER
Published: October 18, 2012

While attending a conference last month, the president of the King's College was spotted in the company of a woman other than his wife. At a typical institution of higher learning, a sighting like that might not have turned into a major controversy.

But the King's College is not a typical institution of higher learning. It is a tiny Christian college based in a downtown Manhattan office building, whose mission statement articulates a "commitment to the truths of Christianity and a biblical worldview."

Its president was Dinesh D'Souza, better known as the outspoken conservative commentator behind the caustic documentary "2016: Obama's America." And the ensuing scandal has cost him his job.

The King's College announced Mr. D'Souza's resignation on Thursday, two days after World Magazine, a Christian-oriented publication, reported that he had checked into a Comfort Suites in South Carolina in September with a woman he introduced as his fiance, despite the fact that he was already married. The magazine reported that he filed for divorce the same day its reporter called to ask about the situation.

Here is the original story from the Christian Evangelical World Magazine

King's crisis

After a meteoric rise in the evangelical world, The King's College president Dinesh DSouza now faces his board's likely questions about his relationship to a woman not his wife

About 2,000 people gathered on Sept. 28 at First Baptist North in Spartanburg, S.C., to hear high-profile Christians speak on defending the faith and applying a Christian worldview to their lives. Among the speakers: Eric Metaxas, Josh McDowell, and keynote speaker for the evening-best-selling author, filmmaker, and Christian college president Dinesh D'Souza.

D'Souza's speech earned him a standing ovation and a long line at the book-signing table immediately afterward. Although D'Souza has been married for 20 years to his wife, Dixie, in South Carolina he was with a young woman, Denise Odie Joseph II, and introduced her to at least three people as his fiance.

Finally, near 11 p.m., event organizer Tony Beam escorted D'Souza and Joseph to the nearby Comfort Suites. Beam noted that they checked in together and were apparently sharing a room for the night in the sold-out hotel. The next morning, around 6 a.m., Beam arrived back at the hotel and called up to D'Souza's room. "We'll be down in 10 minutes," D'Souza told Beam. D'Souza and Joseph came down together, and Beam took them to the airport.

The next day another conference organizer, Alex McFarland, distressed by D'Souza's behavior, confronted him in a telephone conversation. D'Souza admitted he shared a room with his fiance but said "nothing happened." When I called D'Souza, he confirmed that he was indeed engaged to Joseph, but did not explain how he could be engaged to one woman while still married to another. When asked when he had filed for divorce from his wife, Dixie, D'Souza answered, "Recently."

According to San Diego County (Calif.) Superior Court records, D'Souza filed for divorce only on Oct. 4, the day I spoke with him. Under California law, that starts the clock on a six-month waiting period for divorce. D'Souza on Oct. 4 told me his marriage was "over," said he "is sure Denise is the one for me," and said he had "done nothing wrong."

And finally, D'Souza's response to the allegations.

He probably thought his recent noteriety granted him the Cloak of Untouchability.

 o
RE: Another one Bites The Dust

Just another one of those "family values" guys.

You know the kind, "do as I say, not as I do" kind.

Adios to him.

"Why doesn't the Fourteenth Amendment protect the fellow who wants to walk down the aisle with his poodle on the grounds that I love my dog and my dog loves me?"
His take on marriage equality!
Go down that road Dinesh meet your fate you might actually find yourself at the end of it!

RE: Another one Bites The Dust

Gee, why am I not surprised?

rules are for other people

Yup, that's the way they look at it. Goes back to that morals things we discussed on the religion thread. Lots of self proclaimed religous folks without any! Now, why do you think that is?

 o
RE: Another one Bites The Dust

He will rise form the ashes & found his own mega church or TV ministry!
Hey there's a whole big market out there for pet exorcisms keep that poodle from walking down the isle

 o
RE: Another one Bites The Dust

D'Souza will probably still be held in high esteem even after this scandal. He's supplying products to a willing and hungry audience, morals and ethics being beside the point.

Uh, doh, maybe because your dog cannot give consent? Ya think?

RE: Another one Bites The Dust

It seems that Ms. Mrs. Denise Odie Joseph II is married too.

Nancy, you are absolutely right.

RE: Another one Bites The Dust

It's always silent in these threads... no one claiming that high ground of morality in the name of rightwingers everywhere...

 o
RE: Another one Bites The Dust

You never get away. It is the universe.

 o
RE: Another one Bites The Dust

I think he just wasn't stealthy enough. You don't go to your hotel room with your main squeeze at the same time in full view of others in the evening and then in the morning tell the event organizer "WE'LL be down in ten minutes". What was he thinking? I think his ego got the better of him and being known to bed a much younger woman overcame his more mature judgment. High-profile men have just got to stop thinking with their, uh, you know.....

RE: Another one Bites The Dust

Hey, it was good enough for Bill Clinton, and NUMEROUS TIMES.

Those Bimbo Eruptions only allowed him to "compartmentalize."

Men learned at the feet of the master.

Or should I say, Monica did.

RE: Another one Bites The Dust

One big difference, Demi, between Bill Clinton and D'Souza:

Bill Clinton was not a moralizer who did the opposite of what he was telling everyone else to do. That usually, is the provenance of the right-wing Christiban who are, without much deviation, Republicans.

 o
RE: Another one Bites The Dust

I wouldn't be sure, dockside.

Bill Clinton attended Methodist Church services in Washington, DC. I can't say for sure, but guess he would "agree" by his attendance, that he should honor his marriage vows.

Where does D'Souza tell everyone else they should be faithful in their marriage?

I'm not condoning adultery, I just see no difference.

 o
RE: Another one Bites The Dust

He was the director of an extremely conservative Christian college. Adultery being a sin would have been a given.

 o
RE: Another one Bites The Dust

Demi, you are trying to distract from this discussion with your false equivilencies.

This thread is about the hypocrisy that D'Souza and his married mistress espoused not what Bill Clinton did almost 20 years ago. If you don't want to participate then don't but don't try to derail the topic with ancient history or equate Bill Clinton's actions with D'Souza. It is apples and oranges. The only thing they have in common is they were with women while they were still married. Other than that there are few similarities.

D'Souza made his money on character assassination, propaganda and lies in his books, his movie and on the lecture circuit. He also made his money espousing good "Christian values" falsely pretending he was living a life he was not. He would stand in front of thousands and lecture them on these values yet he wasn't practicing them himself.

He accepted a position as the President of a Christian College which comes with rsponsibilities including not sleeping with your married mistress while still married to your wife. Bill Clinton attending Church is not even close to the same thing.

Not only was D'Souza a hypocrite but his mistress had a blog where she would discuss the wrongs of adultery yet there she was doing exactly what she was telling others not to and claiming was wrong. Hypocrisy.

There is a huge difference. Bill Clinton didn't make his money lecturing on Christian values. D'Souza and his mistress did. D'Souza is a hypocrite and a liar. Hardly Christian values, or anyone's values for that matter, in most people's eyes.

 o
RE: Another one Bites The Dust

I agree.

I'm just pointing out that some people are excused for the same behavior.

 o
RE: Another one Bites The Dust

No one "excused" Clinton. The only one that gets to excuse him is Hillary, not you or I. There were many opinions but the majority of people felt he was wrong.

Clinton apologized and acknowledged his behavior and has since moved on to do many things to benefit people. What has D'Souza done since his scandal was exposed? Nothing. He hasn't even taken responsibility. So far he has only feigned innocence and ignorance and continues to lie and now apparently is blaming others. Neither has Mrs. Joseph II who before this was very vocal about her opinion on those who behaved liked she did.

Personally I don't care what D'Souza does. He is nothing but a liar so this doesn't surprise me. I found the man trash before this but he opened himself up and made it everyone's business by espousing these views and getting rich by doing so yet he doesn't live by the very rules he preaches.

Hypocrisy and credibility or in his case, lack thereof. That is what I am trying to point out.

As Nancy said above, this won't change anyone's mind. His lies were proven long ago as was his character, yet some still are buying the garbage he sold in his movie.
