Beware of fake Obama phishing

| My organization's ISS people sent this out today ---
"There are a couple of new malicious trojans circulating in the guise of an Obama "Amazing speech" or video interview with Obama advisors. They are designed to load "phishing" kits which execute keystroke loggers and scan drives to upload your data to a remote server. Suspect any email purporting to provide these kinds of media information and, please, use only reputable news sources to obtain this type of information."

| My computer is part of a 4 machine system hooked up through a router to satellite access... due to the ignorance of other users, the fair access policy here has been exceeded for the past three days, and the package is huge! We are fire-walled, have the best anti-virus, spyware and malware programs, and are completely protected. Until new definitions are released, however, it's smart to be wary. I don't know why some people don't think before they open email sent by people they don't know, engage in chain email sending, or visit sites that are suspect. It defies logic. I am also stupefied that people allow their anti-virus programs to become out-dated, not accepting the updates as they are released. So... until all this malicious behavior subsides, I'll be struggling to surf and email. It sucks! |
