Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

Posted by estreya (My Page) on

As has been discussed before on this forum, many of us are aware Fox News has very little regard for any fact that contradicts their preconceived narrative. Some are content to be lied to if the deception validates a personal bias.

At the risk of being repetitious, here's yet another example of Fox News playing fast and loose with reality.

"Pretty sad that a comedy show is more dedicated to truth in journalism than actual journalists ..."

This, in combination with several other recent news items (not the least of which is Sandra Guzman's lawsuit against the Fox-owned New York Post claiming the Post's stated goal is to destroy Obama's Presidency), seems to be yet another indicator that Fox News is a right-wing propaganda outlet with the stated goal of subverting our democratically elected President.

Are you going to watch Hannity tonight to find out what it's all about?

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

No. But my prediction is that he'll claim there was a mix up with the tape, apologize, and say something along the lines of, "See? Contrary to what the liberal elites accuse us of, we do apologize when we get something wrong. Why, we even fact checked Sara Palin recently!"

Pure malarkey.

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

estraya I have to love 'malarky' a word with a history far more interesting than any bollox concerning fox or Palin.

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

Well, if they'll lie this blatantly, I bet the little white lies, half truths and distortions are rampant.

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

estraya-You're prediction is almost otherworldly. Got any good lotto numbers? :)

Here is a link that might be useful: Hannity apologizes

RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

Loved where he thanked Mr. Stewart and all his writers for watching.

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

Where is Dan Rather when you need him?

RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

Estreya, it's pretty sad that you think Hannity's a news caster. I take it your main news source is Bill Mahr?

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

Thank you for your insights into my thoughts and news preferences, Bill. Although they're incorrect, it touches me to my marrow to be among your considerations.

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

I'll bet it does. If that's not your thoughts, then what does it matter WHAT he says? People like him and Beck don't matter any more than people like Mahr.

Now if you were to come out and say someone like Greta or Shepard Smith were found to be lying, then I'd be concerned.

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

Bill, he didn't just fabricate a story; he fabricated visual "evidence."

And although I find people like Hannity funny, he is not billed as a comedian, as Mahr is.

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

Come on, they all stretch the truth. It is coming from CNN, MBC,ABC, CBS and MSNBC. None of them get it right. If you are a leftie you believe the ones that slat things to the left. If you are on the right you go to their channels. It's all crap. Most people here are on the left. My dad told me many years ago people only believe what the want to believe... No truer words need to be spoken here.

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

susie53, we know what you believe! :)

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

The rule of thumb with crowd size is to see how close the cameras are. If they're right up in the faces of the protesters, its almost guaranteed that very few people are there.

OTOH, when all the camera shots are from half a mile away, maybe from the top of a building, then you know that a whole lot of folks were there because the camera crew couldn't get any closer. Think the shots of Mahatma Gandhi and the several million folk rallies before independence.

And whats most fun, IMHO, is watching one of those close up shots, with some jerk shouting out to the masses, and then they pull away and you see that there's all of 20 folks there, not counting the dog sleeping in front of the podium. Tom Tancredo gave a soaring performance in this genre during the Denver Democratic Convention.

I thought both Michelle Bachmann and Coppertone® John B. were outstanding, btw, doing their part to show the tea party movement in all its glory.

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

Or, as the Deathers did regarding their march on Washington, launching a pic that in fact showed the Million Man March....DUH!

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

Marshallz, I doubt you know anything about me.. It is fun to keep people guessing!!!!! :) Enjoy.

RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

It's funny to see what people take as "news". Heck even "news" isn't news anymore.

I was interviewed last week by a newspaper reporter. In advance we agreed I would have the ability to proof read and edit prior to publication. That no last names would be used, nor the names of minors. That pricing would not be disclosed.

In the end, the "reporter" (junior high journalism major at most) didn't send me the article in advance, did print full names, including minors, and disclosed financial data not pertinent to the article. And NOT ONE quote was correct..NOT ONE in a two page write up.

This is the media now a days...as I asked the editory...why even bother with an interview if you're going to produce a fictional story?

Does anyone print the truth anymore or report it? I am beginning to wonder.

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

"People like him and Beck don't matter any more than people like Mahr."

Bill, you keep saying no one pays attention to these guys. You are so wrong! I get to hear family members spouting their nonsense all the time. Sadly, they believe it.

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

And although I find people like Hannity funny, he is not billed as a comedian, as Mahr is.

Elly, you really think the show Mahr has on HBO is there because it's funny? He's no more comedic than Bill O'Reilly. he tries to get laughs every so often, but that's not what the show's all about.

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

Those whacky people at Faux are at it again. Maybe Jon Stewart will do a sequel.

I really enjoyed the second video. It cracks me up when we're called Obama worshipers, just because we voted for the guy. I'd say the two interviewees in line for Palin's book have some idol issues as well.

RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

Oh, i'm sure it was just a mix up in the tapes is all. Oh, and those little "D" notations that keep appearing underneath every "R" that's embroiled in one scandal or another? Well, those are just typos.

 o

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

Didn't they fake a line of people at a Palin book signing? Thought I heard that today.

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

Yes, they used on from the Presidential campaign. FOX must be on a economizing kick: recycling old video footage. Just a coincidence that images of huge crowds are used for favored personalities and events while those chose for dis-favored ones show sparse and weird attendance. Just a coincidence, of course.

 o
RE: Fox is at it again - tell me lies, tell me sweet little ...

Faux news indeed. If it doesn't fit their agenda, they just make it up. Recycled newsfeed, Beck using Vick’s vaporub to create his crocodile tears, misinformation…

"The Seoul government has no plan to extend, resume, or add its commercial on the program," said Joan E. Bloom, a US spokesperson for the city of Seoul, in an email to ColorOfChange.org. "In other word [sic], there will not be Seoul commercial in the Glenn Beck program any more."

ColorOfChange.org is Van Jones old group. It's not surprising that they would hold a vendetta against Fox.

There are plenty of savvy sponsors who are thrilled for the opportunity to step in and garner exposure from the enormous ratings that Fox provides.

Well, all I can say is google "Glenn Beck crime 1990", hold on to your horses, and start reading all the wealth of information out there on the subject.

I'll never know why he just doesn't come out an deny it. Where there's smoke, well.....

OMG!!!! Thanks david. Now that's some funny sh*t!

Considering I couldn't dredge up any real substantiating evidence, just innuendo, I'm assuming it's a joke. But a good one, nonetheless.

Why won't he deny the allegations? HAAAHAAAAAAHAAAAAA!!!!
