Warning Extreme Brutality in Egypt

It's not happening here.....no it's not happening here. Our uniformed "services" would never behave in such a way.
Even more upsetting are the comments from the excrement for brains who have viewed this incredible cruelty.
I don't ever shy away from whats unpleasant I never wan't to descend into happy thought land.

If we pull the financial plug the military might stop their SS tactics...

And how are we going to pull the financial plug?

Obviously, very few forumers are clicking on labrea's video link. That scene is so shocking--dozens of Eyptian soldiers kicking and stripping and beating up the "woman in the blue bra"--which is how she is becoming known now since no one knows her name. All those heavy boots stomping on that one lone woman!

And she is not the only one being attacked that way by the brutal Egyptian military.

I must extend my congratulations to the 10,000 Egyptian women who turned out to protest the savage treatment of the "woman in the blue bra" and other victims of military brutality. There is hope yet for an emerging women's rights movement in Egypt.

But on Tuesday afternoon, thousands of women staged a march to Tahrir Square.... They came out in droves--"young, old, veiled and unveiled, to chant against the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces [SCAF, the 20-member military board ruling Egypt]... "They say they are here to protect us, but they are stripping us naked," the chants rang out.

I will reiterate what I wrote on Rah! rah Egypt-Go kids Go. Stated by an Egyptian:

"He was telling me that this is very different than anything he's ever seen. Yes, there were crimes before, but it was person against person and that if anything happened, one could protest just like here. Not any more. Now, the government isn't stopping anything! They're looking the other way. And worse, the army is doing the killing. That hasn't happened before. If a Christian speaks out, they will be killed. He was terrified out of his skull. It sounded like a huge step backwards in freedom to me."

It is not typical for them to be anything less than we are. They are protestors and could before this regime. They're regressing and it's a scary thing. I am proud of the women who came to protest even in the face of danger that hasn't been seen in a very long time there.

I salute their courage.

I saw these videos before I came to my computer this morning. Beyond shocking.

What brave women the protesters are.

How very animalistic and cowardly it is of those Egyptian males beating smaller woman and defenseless men. Their mamas must be so proud.

I can't click on any links brought to the forum in video form. I simply do not have the bandwidth to view them.

If you have cable television, it is being shown on CNN headline news and on MSNBC news also, I saw it on the Morning Joe program. If you don't have cable, it will probably be shown again on any one of the big 3 networks in tonights world news segments, it's shocking and terrible images of animalistic brutality.

I fear it here & never doubt humans capacity for brutality.
One of the most awe inspiring performances I ever saw was a Piece of Gorecki's music.
A woman standing before a Crucifix sings a sorrowful lament as video clips of beatings & torture play out.
AT one point 2 soldiers casually eat there lunch before returning to the bone breaking of a prisoner that they stomp beat almost impassively.
The women of Egypt are brave but are they any less willing to subject someone else to the same

RE: Warning Extreme Brutality in Egypt

I am not sure what you mean by that last sentence Joe are you suggesting that everyone would behave the same given a uniform and similar circumstances?

 o
RE: Warning Extreme Brutality in Egypt

Those are police, not military.

They were clearly given orders. They're disobeying orders. Dirty protesters asking for it, right?

 o
RE: Warning Extreme Brutality in Egypt

No I don't think everyone would but there is the problematic Milgram experiment!
