And before you ask -- watering takes 2 to 5 hours, every three or four days. Really. (The average is about 3.) Repotting, grooming, taking cuttings, etc. eats up another 3 or 4 hours per week. And then I'm at work, watering, grooming, repotting, taking cuttings, etc., for another 30 hours a week, give or take. I didn't actually mean for this to happen.

I have actually started trying to make a list for my own reference, but it's slow going ;) I have my Aloes all listed (I think)...a little over 250 of them. I also have close to a couple hundred Haworthias, maybe a hundred Euphorbs, a couple dozen Sans, loads of Mesembs (Lithops, Conophytum, and many many others), a number of Adromischus, many "typical" cacti, a bunch of epiphytic cacti (esp. Rhipsalis/Lepismium types), quite a few caudiciforms & myriad other succulents, quite a few orchids (from showy Catts to Paphs, to leafless Chiloschistas, to terrestrial Jewel Orchids, to succulent orchids like Dockrillia), some Gesneriads (Episcia, Av, Chirita, et al), a number of ferns, fewer Philos than I used to have, but still quite a few, some Anthuriums, a smattering of other Ariods, some Hoyas and Dischidias, just a couple Cycads, A bunch of Bromeliads (both vase types and Tillandsias), a few of the small South African winter-growing bulbs, a few CPs ....Lots of plants in a pretty wide variety. The bad part is that I still have several hundred to move back indoors before it gets too cold!
All those plants, and I don't think I spend as much time watering as Mr. S. does. If they were all water-hogs, I'd be in trouble!

I would be typing forever trying to list all of my plants. I grow just about everything- mostly aroids. I don't grow many succulents and VERY few desert cacti. I have several jungle cacti, though. Well, Sans are considered succulent, so I do have quite a few of those. One of my favorite groups of plants, by the way.

My latest love are gesneriads. Just love 'em. And now with space at a premium, they are just small enough to fit the bill!

Oh Mr. S, you have Homalomena x 'Emerald Gem'. If you click on my name you'll see that particular plant has a special place in my heart. I've since lost mine (they are quite prone to spider mites) but she is *fondly* remembered.

While I don't want to take the time to type up an exact list, I recently culled my collection down to about 100 plants. Last month I had well over 200, but every now and then I like to weed out poor performers, give away doubles, and keep only the best. Seeing deformed/struggling/ugly plants around my house only serves to depress me (I know in others it inspires them to do a "rescue").

My current fascination is with hoyas, but my other true loves are the aroids. Also calatheas, gesneriads, and palms make the list. While I'm not much of a succulant lover I do have a few that I wouldn't be without, mainly my pencil cactus ("Fire Sticks"), string of pearls, schlumbergeras and a few sansevierias.

hornetwife, I was just wondering if I should stake it, it has leaves touching the ground, makes it look kind of scraggly, I have never staked anything, I didn't even know what I could use, I was thinking along the lines of a regular garden trellis as it is so big. A moss stick might work for a while, but I want something where I won't have to mess with it too much once it starts growing on it, and how do you get it to grow up one anyway? I figure the new growth will climb it but what about the stems that are already pretty long?

I forgot 2 plants, one I got in a trade, It is a Homalomena and I believe it was called Emerald Gem, but I am not sure if that is correct, it doesn't look like what I have seen, guess that is another I need to get correct i.d on.
the next is my Philo Brazil, I love the sucker but it has been a battle to keep it looking nice. I have had 3 of them so far and I only have 1 left:(

Darkruler, you just wait, before too long you will have so many you will start forgetting some, I wasn't "into" houseplants until a year ago and I already have ran out of room in my house, I have had about 10 or so for 5 years, the rest are a year or younger. It is so easy to pick up small pots of what you don't have, then you start seeing 10 inch pots fairly cheap, and then before you know it you are spending 20 bucks on a plant (I couldn't help it, I had been eyeballing it for about a Month at HD, then I had a bad day at work, figured I needed a pick me up, so what if it was 20% off the very next week? *Grrrr*) then you see another of what you already have, but this one is different (longer, busher, etc.) I am trying very hard to stop buying duplicates, but it is a battle!

Wow, everyones list is great. I am new here, so here is a way to intro myself. I grow a ton of philo's, a ton of hoya's, a ton of AV's, a ton of gessie's, and then a few of everything else. Some of my favs from everything else would be my christmas cactus, my rubber trees, my pothos(four different kinds, I love these too). I too have close to 400 plants, most of which are in pretty small pots(less than 6 inch, so there are lots of shelves and artificial lighting as well.

It's on top of my radiator in the bathroom and I water it every other day, it pops out fronds like its nobody's business, it also doesn't mind the dry air when I'm not showering, what a plus! it gets whatever extra fert i have left over from doing my other plants. This houseplant deserves more recognition because I give it a 5 star rating.
-1 Musa Basjoo banana.its in pretty good shape, its down to 1 LEAF now because one of them burnt for a reason i still don't know why?,its putting out another one with more on the way. It puts out 1 leaf per week. I fert it once a month. This one is another great plant of mine.
-1 Aechmea Fasciata. This one has had a love-hate relationship with me, but now its produced 2 pups and is powering along nicely. The pink bloom is gone, but the fountain-look and whiteness of the foliage always mesmerizes me. It takes dry air now, didnt use to. Likes tons of sun also. This one goes to the garden with the banana in the summer, because I've tipped it over as far back as I can fathom, its very top heavy so beware! But anyways now here's the list of what I've killed:
-2 Sabal Palmetto seedlings. These were never ment for my house, but unknowingly I got them in November and babied them for 5 months before they bid farewell. After that I stuck em outside and let Mother Nature take over.
-1 WodXVeitchia seedling. I bought this for $20 on ebay in september and It only survived until December. I think it died due to pink rot on the crownshaft.
-1 Guzmania Bromeliad. I bought this at Home Depot in a 16in pot for $15 in October and it died in March. The unusual thing is that one of the old stems where the old plants were(they produced pups before this) had fell off and was missing. The plant also stopped growing and died, so again I let Mother Nature take care of it, well I can always go back to Home Depot and buy another! Thanks Home Depot!
