Semi OT: Prayers/Thoughts for our Brazilian Friends

Hi Folks,

Semi OT, but pertains to our new Hoyas friends from Brazil, Mitzicos & Sonia.

Pls. say prayers or hold good thoughts for them as they are having serious torrential rains in the areas surrounding Rio de Janeiro (& I belive) Sao Paulo as well.

These torrential rains cause massive landslides / mudslides, washing out entire hillsides, homes, cars, people, etc. I've seen numbers of lost from 300 & up.

I'll be glad to see them log back on.

and to them directly:

Pensando de voces, que voces & suas familias seijao securos.

(Translation: Thinking of you, wishing you & your families to be safe).

Thank you very much for your concern.
The tragedy is enormous, hundreds of people died and a lot of them are missing.
Some towns just desapear from the map!
I'm ok I live in Sao Paulo, 10 hours by car from the tragedy, Sonia lives in Rio but not in that place.
I believe this is the result of global warm and massive destruction of nature. The people build their homes up in the hills, not considering the soil conditions and the government does not do what it should be done.

What I've been seeing at tv is horrible, you guys have no idea what is happening here. Sorry for my English mistakes.

Yes.

I have many friends there, and my prayers are with them through all this horrible ordeal. I think the weather around the globe is going mad and who knows why. It is sad.

A very thoughtful thing to do.

The situation is terrible in Rio de Janeiro, hundreds of people lost their lives and hundreds are missing. This is the biggest tragedy of Brazilian climate in all its history.

That's strange my earlier post did not show up?

I am very sorry to hear about the disaster, especially that so many people lost their lives or their homes. The weather is becoming so violent and there is little doubt in my mind that this will become more and more common.

So glad to know you & Sonia are unaffected. It's really sad, something else.

Sorry, I don't really know words to offer, other than saying prayers & keeping those folks in mind & wishing for the floods to end & waters to recede.
