Hoya meliflua is a great plant. At first the leaves seem a little plain but that Hoya is such a trooper once it's established. I find my plant to be very tolerant of dryness and bright light that can wash out many other Hoyas.

Hoya ciliata is in the Eriostemma section which are generally terrestrial rooted plants that grow in hot temperatures and in full sunlight. These are massive rampant vines that need to be rather large to bloom and they can be fussy. I think of all the Eriostemmas you have one of the easiest to bloom so that's reassuring.

Congratulations, Karyn. I have to say I really enjoy Eriostemmas. They just seem so gung ho about life. Never fussing and producing whole branches at the speed other Hoyas produce new leaves. They aren't all as fuzzy as ciliata, but they always seem to have very pert fresh looking foliage.

I still haven't figured out how to keep them groomed, though. Mine don't take kindly to being constrained. When I wrestle with them it always feels like trying to get big hair to go under a hat. Any words of wisdom from the peanut gallery?
