I see you're growing som Rhips there. I'd say Rhips have become my second favorite genus. Is that an Epi on the left?

Hi Denise, this one flowered few years but this is the most umbels I've seen. I like rhipsalis, the one on left is rhipsalis cruciformis twisted form. I do have some epis, strictum, Oxi,some nOID, bertha talbot loose ackermanii hybduios(bad spelling hehe) and some others.

HI Jan, very nice and big plant, and you will have lots of flowers thats great. I am still waiting to see my first flowers on my hoyas..I have been watering with a bloom booster as suggested on here...linda

Hi Kelly, we can trade some more cuttings some time.
The leaves gets prettier with more sun exposure but I don't want to burn them because FL sun gets hot some time.

Can you tell me if this one has a fragrance to it? I got a few cuttings of this for free, but didn't know what the flowers looked like and don't know if it has any fragrance. Does it? if so, what is it like? Like, honey, or chocolate, or perfume? Heavy or barely noticeable? My curiosity is peaked now, I might root it, if it has a scent.

There are apparently several varieties of Hoya camphorifolia, and the scent could be all over the place - sweet, no fragrance or faint scent, or like dirty socks. Reports may also differ because scent is notoriously subjective - what's pleasant aroma for one person smells revolting to another, or even to the same person at another time or at another stage of flower maturity.

I think if you only want to grow a plant for the scent, this one is not the best. There are some hoya species that are very nicely fragrant though - there is a sample list here (http://srqhoyas.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=2). Or you could just go the more mainstream scented route - hyacinths, roses, lilies, the choices are infinite and arguably superior to hoyas. (I said "arguably"! No hate mail, please. :-) ) We generally like them primarily for the look of leaves and/or flowers.

But hey, as long as you got free cuttings, you might as well give them a try, right? Or offer here to people for postage (maybe, if you want to bother - but folks will definitely appreciate it.)
