Maybe you should try soaking the cuttings in lukewarm water for a few hours, then pot them in chunkier medium than before. Listen to other opinions first, though, because this forum hosts many experienced growers.

I think they are going to be just fine, since carnosas are tough, and your description sounds like they might have small roots already.

Remember to choose small enough pot so that the plant doesn't spent too much time growing roots only. Small pot may also help with the moist soil problem your plant suffered from previously.

Get them into a chunky medium.
I prefer to use fine-grade Orchid Bark for my Hoyas.

Another solution.

transplant to a very litlle pot.
The first day only a little of water
Use the method of the bell that you can see link below
Every day you sould have to spray the leaves 2 or 3 times when there is no sun (Early morning and evening).
brightly lit and very ventilated room or outside.
2 or 3 hours every day without the bell.
Then you can watering whenever the soil is dry

I find that when Hoyas start to dehydrate a bit, you can put them in a pot of soil and into a big baggie, spray with some water (I use VF-11 water), blow in the bag and seal it. Put it in a shady warm spot and check it about once a week. I find even the most dehydrated cuttings root and fatten back up almost every time.

thank you all for the helpful advice! I went to the nursery today to get some chunky potting mix, saw a hindu rope hoya, bought it, then upon returning home realized I had forgotten to buy my soil!!! Addictive little plants! Oh well, now I have an excuse to go back to the nursery again.
