Hi kittee! I too was a long time lurker. My first Hoya was carnosa covered in mealies from a storage locker abandoned, no idea what it was but cleaned it up and it blossomed the same year! My youngest had a trick of licking the dripping nectar from the blooms. Geez! Welcome to you! Mary

How fun to have your best friend similarly obsessed. I have to admit, my friends always look at me with a bit of a worried expression where plants are concerned. Like I am in the same category as people who do aerobics with their cats. (Although maybe that's fair, as I do sympathize with that group of people, because it seems a natural temptation to make a very serious cat a bit ridiculous for 30 minutes)

Perhaps your possible shepherdii is a possible linearis? I do not have shepherdii myself, but linearis is about the same size as a branch of rosemary, albeit much more succulent.

Yes, I thought that rosemary-like leaf must be Linearis. It's the only Hoya I've come across which looks like that description (& is so un-Hoya like in appearance too).

YES! we were gifted with hoya linearis. how cool. i love this plant. we have two in water (one rooted really well, one not so much, but still very green) and two in dixie cups.
anyone have advice for this one, since we both only have carnosas, which are so easy.
