Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share what I planted today in my garden. This is mainly for my best friend Nikki (I think you all know the story). Take a look :) . This is one of my favorite flowers.

Before

Butterfly Bush 6/5/11 (Before)

After (there are other flowers in with it; clarkia, balloon flowers, black eyed susans, just to name a few. All except the butterfly bush were winter sown.)

Enjoy!

They are pretty! Wish you were closer! My butterfly bush puts out runners. Gave away 4 of them today!

Thanks Kelly and GG!

Kelly, what color is your butterfly bush? lol I'm running out of space for outside plants too.

GG, thanks! Nikki loved butterflies and butterfly bushes. I haven't seen any on it yet but I keep looking!

Brad,
Mine is the bluish/purple. Have several - one which I never cut back and it's probably close to 20 feet tall. The others I cut back to about a foot high in April and they're now a good 7 or 8 feet tall!

Thanks Kelly!

Sounds pretty! I know they can grow quite a bit in one season! Did you ever take cuttings from it or your sweet autumn clematis? My sweet autumn clematis died unfortunately. I know butterfly bushes can be started from seeds too. I remember somebody planted some when they winter sowed.
