Definitely don't cut those vines! LOL
Many Hoyas are climbing vines so they send out new growth that reaches out and hopefully find something to grab hold of. You can give your plant a trellis to climb or allow it to grow as a hanging plant. As the new growth develops the leaves will begin to fill in those bare vines and often times you will see the first peduncles form on this new growth.
Your plant looks like Hoya carnosa and a happy one at that. You will want to make sure that as the new leaves develop you don't let the plant get too dry but other than that just keep on doing what you have been doing because it looks like it's working.

I agree with Mike. It looks fabulously healthy and those vines will be beautiful cascading around it. I would also guess carnosa, but the bronze new growth is unusual for carnosa. You must be growing it in nice high light...

Alright you have convinced me. After seeing all that the two of you do with your hoyas it's hard to dispute advice from you.

I am now thinking of growing it around a topiary form. LIke this ivy hoop:

That will work but in time you may want to go with something taller. You could also allow part if the plant to hang while training the rest on a support but it all depends on your preference. I grow my plant up high and just let the vines hang down because it's easier that way once the plant becomes larger.
