Lovely! So now your joy is no longer in the well, right? I'm not sure I understand that saying, but I like the sound of it. :)
Did you amputate the snapped vine or keep it attached? I can't tell what's going on in the pictures.
On this topic...
I read somewhere in bonsai-dom that super glue can be used to repair snapped branches. Generally I prune and root mine, however there are some occasions where it is a long new vine with no leaves and it doesn't die back after being partially snapped. I then wonder what to do. My blood curls at the idea of putting something as toxic as glue on a living being, but it would be nice if one could keep the vine along and allow it to grow some leaves before severing it. What do you guys do?
I taped it. With masking tape. It healed the break and is just fine today, except for the fact that it has become an ant trap. Seriously. I removed the tape and now there are ants stuck to my buotii's stem.
Super glue was originally created to be a form of suture, or so I've heard. Which is why it is so good at adhering your skin to itself. Now I don't know that this makes it any less toxic, but at least it's not like some of my jewelry cement, which sounds downright scary sometimes.
LMAO. Well, my Hoyas have been so sticky lately from neem and sap that ants probably wouldn't notice the difference.
Now that you mention it, superglue as suture does ring a bell. I guess if those fussy bonsai people do it, plants can't be that sensitive to whatever is in the stuff. I just feel a bit guilty refusing to put chemicals on my skin and then just sticking some right into the bloodstream of my loved ones. >_>
Of course, whatever is in tape would reasonably permeate the branch too, and at some point I need to quit being so hysterical.
