First one I purchased and the tag has faded. The second came from a trade and was labled as a carnosa, and the third I purchased and is a EA named Green Leaf which we know is wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Hi Regina, first one looks like pubicaylix pink silver or carnosa but hard to be sure without the flowers. Second & third plants & flowers looks same to me, DS-70. Second plant looks like got a lot more sun then the third plant. Jan |

| I think 2nd & 3rd might be the same, too, but the photos aren't real clear, so if you see a distinct difference, please describe it to us. Both look to me like tsangii/DS-70 also... First one could be pubicalyx 'Pink Silver', I would agree, but there's something about the growth habit that made me have a moment of doubt. When I thought about it for awhile, meliflua as a possibility came to mind. Keep an eye out for flowers, as Jan suggested. Denise in Omaha |

Thanks Jan and Denise. I was leaning towards Publicalx on the first one myself, have three others but this ones growth habit is much larger then what they are. The second one was from a large swap and had open pentacles when it arrived that smelled like honey. The new pentacles will be open in the next day or two.I believe it was grown in a greenhouse, don't know why it has that more sun look. The leaves are also smaller and rounder. The third one is greener and longer leaves, bushier growth.I also see veins in the leaves. Pentacles are the same size, slight color difference and smell like buttery/caramel. I was thinking DS-70 too, but with the differences just did'nt know what to make of it. Regina |

The first one looks like H. diversifolia to me. And I agree the the 2nd and 3rd both look like H. DS-70. Gabi P.S. Those microphone shaped parts that flowers come from are peduncles, not pentacles :) |

Thanks Gabi, Somewhere out there in the middle of all my Hoya's is a H. Diversivolia. I have a hanging wall of Hoya's that I want to make sure all have tags and that one has a badly faded tag beyond reading. Tomorrow I will have to look for it and see if this is it.Will label the other two DS-70. Thanks for the proper spelling too.....my spelling is the pits at times. Regina |

| You live in Florida, it is big hoyas, and you believe it was grown in a greenhouse. In Florida the biggest distributor is "Exotic Angel Plant", and they have Hoya bilobata. Check they web to verify: www.exoticangel.com |
Here is a link that might be useful: wax-plant.com

| Hoofs and Horns, I highly doubt that the first hoya is an EA hoya. However, Regina did say that the 3rd plant came from Exotic Angel (EA), but EA is notorious for mislabeling. What they have listed as H. bilobata is actually H. DS-70. Gabi |

| I have to agree with other, it looks like Hoya publicalyx "Pink Silver". Hoya bilobata and Hoya DS-70, I am not going to argue, my was labeled bilobata when I bout, that’s what I call. |

| I was able to do an inventory of my Hoya's now that I have them all hanging and the first picture I posted is the H. Diversivlia. It now has a new tag in the pot. Thanks to Gabi I was able to narrow it down much easier to this. I believe we are all in agreement the other two are DS-70. Only the last one came from EA. Hoofandhorns.....In the future this site is for trading and swapping and offering information. It is not for offering your website and the plants that you have for sale, It is against GardenWebs policy to do so. Why you havent been removed yet, is beyond me and I'm sure several of the others who have come across your links. Regina |

| "Hoya bilobata and Hoya DS-70, I am not going to argue, my was labeled bilobata when I bout, that’s what I call." Like I said, EA mislabels most of their hoya, and there is even a list on this forum on Dave's Garden forum that gives the actual names for EA's false names. Everyone who bought a hoya with the EA brand has the same label (such as H. bilobata) - it's still H. DS-70. But call it what you wish (I just hope you don't trade it or sell it with a false ID due to stubborness). P.S. Please do not advertise on this site. If you continue to do so, I will make a formal complaint (however, it's very unlikely that someone would buy from someone who refuses to listen to fact and who mislabels their plants). Gabi |
Just to clarify
