First time bloomers

These 2 are first time bloomers for me.

I purchased this one last fall as a replacement plant. The original did not die but I did have some troubles with it.

Brevialata - This one smells like butterscotch to me.

This one is just budding up. I purchased it early spring.

Davidcommingii

This one bloomed once already since I received the cutting in the Liddle order the beginning of this month. All the peduncles are now budding up again.

Heuschkeliana Yellow(looked more orange to me) - Smelled like butter when it bloomed, maybe even butterscotch. I'll notice more when all these are in bloom together.

'Rope' was a first time bloomer for me too but the picture I took the other day didn't turn out. I like the bloom the best out of all the Carnosa. It is a beautiful light pink, but the fragrance was one of the worst out of the Carnosa though.

Thanks for looking. I'll post the pictures when they are further along in the bloom process.

Wow! David, it is a lot flowers on a small plant like that.
Please keep posting when the flower open.

Congratulations on all the blooms David. I really like the look of brevialata's flowers but I am getting impatient waiting for my plant to bloom.

Your yellow heuschkeliana is putting on quite the performance for being so new. I started with a cutting and it took a couple years to start blooming and only this year did it produce an abundance of flowers. I find the yellow variety to be a much better grower and bloomer than the pink one.

When I first received the heuschkeliana I was surprised as to how long the cutting was. The leaves were slightly dehrydrated but they have plumped up since receiving it. Summer growing or rooting this plants outside is never a problem here. We have lots of heat and humidity this time of year.

I am particularly excited about the Davidcummingii since I hear this one has an outstanding fragrance.

Brevialata has been so close to blooming so many times but always aborted for me in the past. I think Brevialata is very sensitive to being moved around. IMO several hoyas display the butterscotch scent but this is one of the sweeter versions of it.

Wow those are some happy bloomers. I'm partial to brevialata's (and micrantha's) flowers, too. Something about those little balls of white and crimson. Heuschkeliana is a favorite of mine, though. Love those buttery little lanterns. They always make me feel hungry though. :\

I didn't smell my davidcummingii. Darn it! The one time I forget. I think it was because it was so small I was just terrified to anger the little thing by moving it about. Your plant looks terrific - how long have you had this one?

David...I hope that you like the scent of your H. davidcummingii...mine blooms frequently and I find the scent absolutely awful...a vague similarity to stale popcorn!! Great growing!! Fondly, Patrick
