I too have a KQ that I've had for over 11 years now. When I had her in my west-facing garden window, she bloomed faithfully. Used to put out long, long vines and I would just "wrap" them around the plant itself. But I moved her to a north-facing window because her leaves were turning yellow (too much bright light and direct sun). She does nothing - no blooms - but now has put forth creamy white leaves and a pendicule. Hoyas sometimes do weird things.

Those kind of vines are the ones worth waiting for. It seems like I see those on Hoyas that have gone through a long dormancy, which it seems you're describing. It's like... "I haven't grown in a long time, so I'm going to put out a super-vine". It also sometimes results in a monster leaf. At any rate, it's a good sign that your Hoya has decided to grow. Enjoy!
