I often pot them up as soon as I see roots forming, as long as the the cutting is nice and hydrated. Once they get in soil, they usually work hard to develop roots and they're soon off and growing.

I root mine right in the pots they will grow in and it works well. It would probably be best to pot the cuttings as soon as roots appear so that the roots are not making a big change from aerial root to one growing in potting mix, not sure if Hoya roots are that sensitive or not. Do you notice an acclimation period when you move your cuttings to a pot or do they not miss a beat?

Since I usually wait until I see new growth before moving to pots, I don't usually notice a slowing in growth. I do root in bark so the change isn't drastic at all for the plants.
