Does anyone have the true Hoya gigas?

When I gave up collecting hoyas back in the late 80's, there was considerable debate on a newly collected hoya I proposed to be gigas. It had four and a half inch flat furry flowers in a red-brown and smelled like a stapelia. I believe someone wanted to name it something new, just because it wasn't found in the locale of the original H. gigas. I believe David (now in Iris Liddle's collection) had a piece of this and so did another collector in Europe.

Don't give it to TG as he will call it something else brand new for everyone to must have buy!

There have been numerous eriostemmas collected from both the northern most tip of Australia and also the southern most edge of new Guinea. Many interesting forms and habits from a plant that all resembled each other with just finely different textures of fuzzy, glossy, glossy surface, fuzzy undersides, acuminate tipped, etc.

The eriostemma is a fascinating group of hoyas that needs much work done on it.
